In association with Massey University – Wellington, and The University of Auckland, Unikite organised a 3 day meet-up in Raglan.
The Welly group left home at 4am Friday morning, and arrived in time for a sunny afternoon session on the estuary. The Auckland kiters turned up soon after, and yarns spun.
After a full day of kiting, we retired to the bach, and hooked up the keg.
We found ourselves in a dark corner of Raglan town, listening to some interesting punk/rock leather clad, cross-dressers, which was only slightly better than it sounds.
The morning after the night before – there were a few delicate souls at the beach, but the wind blew life back into everyone. Saturday was small kite weather, 5’s to 9’s throughout the day. Everyone had a great session, some impressive moves being thrown by both Massey, and UoA kiters!
Sunday came around far too soon, with no wind on the table, everyone took their time to recover, pack up, and get ice cream.
We had an awesome time in Raglan, thanks to everyone who made the trip. We’ve got some pretty big ideas about the future of Unikite, and will let you know more soon.
In the meantime, keep your eyes peeled for an edit from us, coming soon!!
